The Computer Technology (CT) program has been developed to provide training in the principles underlying the design of modern computer systems. Students in bachelor’s degree programs in computer technology explore operating systems, networking, security protocols and hardware. Some degree programs allow students to choose a concentration, like internet technology and multimedia, database development, or digital security. Graduates may be prepared for entry-level positions and professional certification. To be eligible for admission, students should have their high school diplomas and acceptable ACT or SAT scores, along with some experience with computers.
This course covers the legal and ethical issues that IT professionals should be knowledgeable of. Case studies will be used to illustrate recent events in the businesses and transactions related to IT. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to analyze the impact of technology on individuals, organizations and society from a legal and ethical perspective.
