The Computer Technology (CT) program has been developed to provide training in the principles underlying the design of modern computer systems. 17-762 is a 12-unit, full-semester course intended for graduate students, particularly those in the MSIT eBusiness Technology program and Societal Computing Ph.D. students. Embry-Riddle students go on to have thriving careers in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, business and tech industries. International students should apply online using the Conestoga College International Application Portal Please note: not all programs are open to international students. Interested students should check the listing of open programs on our international students web page before applying.
Computer Information Technology has applications in nearly all areas of human endeavor. A major objective of the B.S. CIT program is to prepare graduates to work effectively with people from other domains. To this end, students in the B.S. CIT program are required to engage in deeper studies of an application domain other than computing that uses computing in a substantive way.
Secondly, much of the target demographic for computer science programs is non-traditional students, often those who are already in a career related to technology and need updated skills and credentials, or who are looking for a career change. For these students, an online degree programs allows them to keep their current jobs while working toward a degree that will help them get their next job.
However, schools and educational curriculum should not replace teachers with computers, because a computer is just a tool which can be of no function without a teachers guide. This means that we shall still need and will always need to have teachers in the classrooms, but use computers to help them do their job easily and also attract students to get involved in academic activities. The exact effectiveness of computers is not yet clear, but it can not be denied that they have simplified the way we learn. Without computers, educational facilities like ”online education or long distance learning” would be next to impossible.
UAT’s Web Design Degree introduces students to the process of designing and deploying web design and infrastructures, creating content and maintaining websites with a fundamental shift to web 2.0 technologies and deployment of web technologies to mobile devices. As a current CIS, CPT, or CNT major, you will continue to receive college credit for the courses you have already taken, and will earn an AAS Computer Information Technology degree in one of the five declared concentrations upon completion of the graduation requirements.
