A complete history of computing would include a multitude of diverse devices such as the ancient Chinese abacus, the Jacquard loom (1805) and Charles Babbage’s “analytical engine” (1834). Secondly, much of the target demographic for computer science programs is non-traditional students, often those who are already in a career related to technology and need updated skills and credentials, or who are looking for a career change.
